A vacation should be a time to take a break, relax, switch off from work, enjoying time with friends and family. But is that what happens?

Do you find your sleep patterns are disturbed and you continue to feel exhausted?

Are you continuing to worry about the work you didn’t finish before you went away and the mountain that will be building up for you on your return?

Are you constantly checking emails, even though your out-of-office is on?

Do you notice that you are unusually irritable, distant or distracted from those around you?

Are you dreading returning to work?

If you recognise these behaviours or those in the 12-step model, then you should take action.

Talking to someone is a useful first step.  It could be a friend, partner or a colleague. You may be surprised by the amount of support you have.

A coach can provide a supportive and confidential space to support you in getting your life in balance by exploring your feelings and aspirations, setting healthy boundaries, managing stress and building resilience.

If you are suffering from severe anxiety or think you might be depressed, consider seeking help from a mental health professional.
