Coaching
About You
- Are you brilliant at your profession and having been promoted now feel you don’t know who you are as a leader?
- Do you find you are struggling with your leadership style and wonder how you are perceived by your team?
- Are you looking for the next step in your career but are concerned how you will manage in a leadership role?
- Do you find yourself copying the behaviours of other leaders rather than cultivating your ow style of authentic leadership?
If so, you are in the right place.
I am passionate about supporting brilliant professionals like you, who are brilliant at your job but struggling to work out who you are as a leader.
I can help you to identify what is holding you back from realising your potential and enable you to become the confident and authentic leader that will ensure that you are respected by your team.
This might include:
- Exploring your values to help find your own leadership style.
- Managing the imposter syndrome that is holding you back.
- Identifying the beliefs you have about your capability and the procrastination that stops you from taking action.
- Supporting you with your resilience by reviewing your work/life balance so that you can operate at your best.
- To make incremental improvements that will enable you to stay ahead and feel confident in leading in increasingly volatile and uncertain times.
About Coaching
Coaching is a powerful process that can create significant and lasting change in your life. It allows you time to think, to examine problems from different perspectives, notice recurring patterns of thoughts and feelings and explore issues you want to resolve. It is a partnership of equals, where I work alongside you to allow you to gain new insights into the topic you wish to explore and support you in moving forward, often in ways you hadn’t imagined possible.
My coaching practice may include several different modalities including Transactional Analysis, Narrative Coaching and Cognitive Behavioural Coaching.
I draw on my personal and professional experience in my coaching. Whether it is building high-performing teams, embedding value-led cultures, leading complex change programmes, building confidence, setting goals, looking to change career, there isn’t much that I haven’t experienced across a varied career.
My main areas of specialism include:
- Authentic Leadership
- Managing teams
- Finding your purpose
- Career Development and transition
- Confidence and Imposter Syndrome
- Work/life balance
- Avoiding Burnout
- Resilience
What to Expect
What would it be like if:
• you had a safe space where you could think without interruption?
• you were listened to without judgement so that you felt really heard?
• If you had a critical friend, who had your best interests in mind, supporting you to clarify your thoughts and challenge your assumptions, allowing you to move forward when you are stuck?
• If you had a thinking partner that noticed the issues that you were avoiding and helped you to have the courage to face them?
• If you had a companion that would hold you to account with humour and an occasional virtual kick up the backside?
My coaching style is simple and straightforward, empowering and empathetic, not directive. The approach will be tailored to your requirements, rather than following any set models or programmes. Within a supportive and safe space, I will listen without judgement, question and challenge you to identify the assumptions or limiting beliefs that might be holding you back.
You may never have had conversations where you have been really heard before. Active listening and potent questions, coupled with uninterrupted time to think, will allow you to fully unleash your own creativity and potential.
Practicalities
Coaching sessions typically last around an hour, are completely confidential and take place via Microsoft Teams, Google Meets or Zoom and can include face to face sessions in London or the Surrey Hills.
An initial exploratory conversation to discuss your situation and the support you need is free. It may be that you are stuck with an issue which can be resolved with a single session helping you see things from a new perspective. Alternatively, it may take a number of sessions to support you with a career or life transition.
I operate a sliding scale of fees for coaching according to seniority and whether your employer is paying or you are paying privately. I typically operate an hourly rate but occasionally offer a monthly coaching retainer for senior executives. Coaching is an investment but it should feel excellent value for money for the benefits you will gain from the experience.
The first step is to email me at andrew@andrewcookecoaching.com or WhatsApp or call me on +44 07966 143366 to book an introductory conversation to discuss what support is appropriate for you.
